In a remarkable display of composure and quick thinking, two young siblings from Crestview Local Schools in Ashland, Ohio, became unexpected heroes when their school bus driver experienced a sudden medical emergency.

Eight-year-old Catrina was the first to notice something was wrong when the driver began having difficulty breathing. Sitting in the seat nearest to the driver, she immediately recognized the severity of the situation and took decisive action, demonstrating a level of awareness far beyond her years.

Realizing she needed help, Catrina rushed to the back of the bus to find her 7th-grade brother Charlie. Her strategic decision to seek her brother's assistance proved crucial in managing the unfolding emergency. Charlie quickly sprang into action, using the bus radio to contact the school and alert them to the critical situation, while another student, an 8th grader named Kali, simultaneously called 911.

The bus driver, who had previously instructed her regular riders on emergency radio procedures, was later hospitalized and subsequently discharged. Her proactive training of students clearly paid off during this critical moment, as the children remembered and executed her instructions perfectly.
