In a bold move towards regional progress, Kano State's Executive Council has approved a sweeping package of infrastructure and community enhancement projects totaling over ₦6.9 billion, signaling a robust commitment to comprehensive state development.

Governor Abba Yusuf's administration has strategically allocated funds across multiple critical sectors, demonstrating a holistic approach to addressing regional needs.

During the 36th Executive Council meeting, Information Commissioner Ibrahim Waiya detailed the expansive project portfolio, which includes road construction, drainage systems, educational infrastructure, and community empowerment initiatives.

The most substantial allocations include ₦2.6 billion for the Yandodo-Mai-Allo Road construction, ₦896 million for culvert reconstruction in Kiru Local Government Area, and ₦358.5 million dedicated to storm water drainage in Kano Municipal.

Beyond infrastructure, the council approved ₦431.7 million for the Entrepreneurship Institute's graduation and empowerment program, highlighting the state's commitment to developing human capital and creating economic opportunities.

Additional approvals included ₦85.6 million for water pipeline extension in Gwale, ₦285 million for classroom construction, and ₦157.7 million for an anti-corruption workshop, reflecting a multi-faceted development strategy.

The meeting also saw the transmission of four critical bills to the House of Assembly, including the Kano State Local Governments Administration Bill 2025 and the Kano State Economic Planning and Development Council Bill 2025, further solidifying institutional frameworks for sustained progress.

As a symbolic culmination of the council's efforts, development partners presented a skills acquisition training package and donated a 32-seater coaster bus, underlining the collaborative spirit driving Kano State's transformative agenda.
