In a powerful display of human solidarity, hundreds of thousands of Turkish citizens flooded Istanbul's historic Galata Bridge, raising Palestinian and Turkish flags in a resolute stand against ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Organized by the National Will Platform and supported by major football clubs, the massive demonstration drew an estimated 500,000 participants who marched under the passionate slogan: "We won't remain silent, we won't forget Palestine." Over 400 civil society organizations united in this remarkable show of collective concern.

Galatasaray football club chair Dursun Ozbek delivered a poignant message, describing the current situation as a profound moral challenge. "We will not get used to this silence," Ozbek stated in a video shared on X, emphasizing the importance of standing united against oppression.

Despite freezing temperatures, protesters packed the bridge and surrounding streets, representing a cross-section of Turkish political perspectives. Al Jazeera's Turkey correspondent Sinem Koseoglu reported that the Palestinian issue transcends traditional political divides, uniting supporters from the governing AK Party and major opposition parties.

The rally featured an emotionally charged performance by Lebanese-born singer Maher Zain, who sang "Free Palestine" to a sea of raised flags.
